*  The Corporate Services Division is headed by the Assistant CEO, Corporate Services, Ms Margaret P Godinet-Tuilagi assisted by the Principal Accounts and Administration Officer, Mrs Matimaimavasa Sekuini with the assistance of 11 other  staff members.

* The Primary Objective for Corporate Services is to develop and maintain a skilled and knowledgeble workforce to effectively and efficiently carry the Ministry's responsibilities to the  Communication sectors.

* The Function of the Corporate Services Division is to provide the essential administrative support services to ensure that the Ministry is operating efficiently and its core functions are effectively executed.

ICT

The Information Communication Technology (ICT) Secretariat was established in 2006 to fulfill the objectives of the National ICT Strategy and its vision “ICT for All.” It is a semi autonomous body working alongside MCIT to implement projects in line with the ICT strategy and represent Samoa at regional and international ICT Workshops. The Secretariat staff are experts in ICT and committed to developing ICT in Samoa, giving Samoans access to, awareness of and skills in ICT. The Secretariat provides support for the National ICT Committee which is chaired by the Prime Minister.

Projects it is currently involved in include:

  • Millennium Development Goals LED Screen
  • Rural Connectivity Program
  • One Laptop per Child
  • Rural Broadband for Young (RUBY)
  • Rural Internet Connection for Samoa (RICS)

National Radio 2AP - 540 AM

National Radio 2AP has been serving Samoa since 1947 as the first public broadcasting station established in Samoa’s history. In 2008 2AP came under the responsibility of MCIT. The Government of Samoa sees National Radio 2AP as “The Voice of the Nation,” it is the key source for information on emergency warnings, official messages and a platform from which to promote Samoan culture and tradition. It also promotes sports by providing live broadcasts and provides live coverage of national events such as the Teuila Festival and Independence celebrations.

Emergency Warnings

The official station for emergency warnings before, during and after natural disasters. The station works in a close relationship with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to ensure live and prerecorded messages are broadcast. National Radio 2AP aims to raise awareness of natural disasters, raise awareness of trainings and drills and broadcast up to date reports, enabling Samoan’s to become well educated and informed on natural disasters.

Policy Awareness

2AP works in association with Government Ministries to promote awareness of Government policies. The Ministry of Health uses outreach programs to promote its healthy lifestyle policies, this includes Jazzercise being broadcast to the villages in the mornings.
