This morning, Honourable Minister Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo, Minister for Communications, Information and Technology, shared Samoa’s experience in building the digital economy at the Digital Transformation Critical Success Factors Forum as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)2024.
The CHOGM side event, hosted by the Commonwealth Telecoms Organisation, shared a report which examined critical success factors and challenges of digital transformation in Commonwealth countries. The session’s key aim was to raise awareness of the need for digital transformation and provision of tools to measuring progress. This was followed by a panel discussion by Commonwealth representatives and industry experts.
Honourable Minister Onesemo highlighted “through the implementation of e-government services we have started to build the foundation of the digital economy”, sharing Samoa’s experience in building resilience and the benefits of digitalisation.
