National ICT Policy 2025-2030 Community Consultation

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) recently held its second community consultation at Apita o Pisaga hall in Salelologa, Savaii as part of the ongoing review of the National ICT Policy 2025-2030. This session followed a sccessful consultation earlier in the week at To’oa Salamasina hall in Upolu.

Community leaders, including Sui o Nu’u, Sui o le Malo, and Sui Tama’ita’i, shared valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities that tchnology presents in their respective areas. Their contributions played a ke role in shaping the new policy. The discussions highlighted the need to enhance communications and service accessibility, ensuring the policy responds to evolving public needs and addresses the misuse of social media.

MCIT conducts Community Consultation for National ICT 2012-2017 Policy Review

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) held a community consultation at Tooa Salamasina hall to review the 2012-2017 National ICT Policy. Representatives such as Sui o Nu’u, Sui o le Malo, and Sui Tama’ita’i shared insights on technology’s challenges and benefits, and voiced their contribution for the 2025-2030 policy. The previous policy’s impact on communication and access to services was acknowledged. The Policy Division, CEO, ACEO Policy, and ACEO ICT facilitated the session and addressed community questions to guide future policy development
