Government Cybersecurity Workshop – Introduction to the Incident Response Standard, Information Security Policy

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is committed to protecting our nation’s digital future. Today, we conducted our first Government IT Workshop of 2026 focused on the implementation of the Information Security Policy 2024.

Why this matters:

🤝Unified Policy: This workshop spotlights the Cybersecurity Incident Response Standard, one of seven critical standards designed to protect government data in the Information Security Policy.

🛡️ Collective Resilience: By bringing all government agencies together, we ensure that every department is equipped to act as a responsible steward of Samoa’s resources.

🌏 Regional Partnership: We appreciate the collaboration with our regional partners, including Australia DFAT through the Cyber RAPID Program, to keep our practitioners informed on regional cyber trends.

We look forward to continued engagement as we roll out these essential security standards across the whole of government.
