Strategic Functions:Policy Development and Planning includes the transparent process of: • Conduct comprehensive research and translate into useful information through analysis to produce high level policy advice for decision makers and regulator on emerging issues that requires immediate attention. • Formulation and drafting of policies, strategies and plans that are simple and relevant to all stakeholders with implementation plans for successful operation • Consult and negotiate with key stakeholders to garner views and preferences, understand possible unintended consequences of a policy or to collect views on implementation. • Monitoring and Evaluation to Identify gaps in the development and implementation of policies and plans, outline areas for improvement and ensure deadlines are consistently met. • Reviewing to evaluate the effectiveness of policies, strategies and plans to ensure it addresses existing and emerging legislative needs of the ICT Sector in achieing it vision and accomplishing its mission • Policy Advices – Government Policy Statements on, new and/or existing Government policies, new and/or existing legislation(s) in the Information and Communication Technology Sector. • Awareness – Promote new policies and strategies to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the changes occurring with the ICT sector and industry.
